On my initial service at the Gridley CA. branch I was pleased and gave 5 stars because it was quick, easy, and the associate who did my taxes was friendly. Unfortunately I forgot to provide an unemployment paper and had to amend my taxes. Thats when things turned sour. The Gridley associate and manager were no help to me. They wanted to charge me another $100 on top of the $450 I had already paid them to make the needed change which took about 10 - 15 minutes in the Yuba City branch office I wound up at after I decided to look into other options. I even paid extra for the insurance and identity theft protection but that made no difference to them. The Yuba City branch made the change at no cost to me, just my time and effort to get to the building. The Gridley associate was also playing games saying it would take at least 1 hour to do the work and when I asked the manager about it she wouldn't give me a straight answer. The associate had some attitude on the phone when I ccomplained about the high price and questioned her how long it would actually take to do the work. I was calm and polite when I spoke to her. Had they made the change for me I would have continued to come back. Now I will take my business to the Yuba City office from now on. It is only because of the willingness of the Yuba City office to help me that I even return to H and R block at all. All in all as long as your paperwork is in order you will probably have a good experience in the Gridley office. But they lied to me and their customer service after texes was severely lacking. I also had a hard time getting them to respond to messages on the myblock app. It would take weeks sometimes. I don't recommend the Gridley branch.
