The Cove Hotel

So, this place is much nicer than some reviews would lead you to believe. We were nervous based on reviews, but its actually pretty nice. If I liked a firmer mattress, Id def stay here again. They seem to be continuously updating & improving things. Rooms: Rooms are clean - better than we expected based on previous comments. The bathrooms have been updated. Room and decor are very nice. They have robes in the room. Cons: The pillows arent great. I found them flat, while my daughter said they were too high. If the pillows were replaced & improved, it would make a huge difference. The mattress is on the firm side. I prefer a pillow top. However, its not a rock. Sometimes firm mattresses make my arms fall asleep, but they arent that hard. Safety: They have cameras all over hotel & parking lot that are watched from the check-in desk. Walkability: There is a plaza right next to motel and one across the street. We walked across and had Jamba and Jersey Mikes at 8 pm. It was safe. We are 3 women and I didnt see anything that made me feel unsafe. Food & drinks: The motel does not have a lot of food, but they said they are working on expanding their options. Starting today, they will have a small menu. However, there are a number of food choices in walking distance. Noteworthy details: Pool is beautiful & there are oversized Chess & Connect 4. We asked for a quiet room, and we were given one inside. Once we heard cars on the road, but it really was quiet. If you want quiet, just ask them. Not many outlets to charge devices.

I enjoyed the inside of the hotel. The pool area, foliage, fireplace was outstanding. The bar was good and the breakfast area was nice. (Great breakfast burrito). The area seemed a little rougher but there was a lot of close food and grocery stores near by. The rooms were good. Easy transportation to the cruise port. Would stay here again if cruising out of LA Rooms: Clean and good size Safety: Stay close to the hotel
