The man who helped me was super nice, soooo nice. So nice that it really kind of killed me to stand up and ask that my docs be shred. But he blew thru all the pages on the computer screen before I could even blink, on one return. From there, it was over an hour of computer problems, then (finally) discovering a grossly inflated number (like 7 or 8 digits grossly! when it should have been either empty or 3 digits at most) put into one section on one return, while another value was listed in an entirely wrong box on the second return, which then coincidentally couldn't be reviewed OR printed due to the widely Known computer errors, apparently affecting Other locations as well. Which also meant that I had no way of signing either return digitally or physically, UNLESS...As a get-around, because of the errors, it was suggested that I 'just go ahead and pay' for & THEN I can digitally sign the one return. All beFore I could even catch a glimpse of it. (Are you serious?!?!?!) Only THEN, could it be printed and reviewed. (?????!?!?) When I refused and was unwilling to sign without verifying anything on the returns, it was then suggested that I 'could just come back tomorrow to finish up'.(?!) My appt was This day, not the next. The manager was kind to offer to knock $25 off the $155 ticket price if I did. I'm sorry, but after over an hour of glitches, errors (computer and system/user), and being so incredibly sick to my stomach with frustration, you think that I would pay anything close to that for such an unprofessional service and experience? I said no, please shred my docs, and I walked. Interestingly enough, he told me in the very beginning that HRB changes the systems every year. As well as, while he was on the phone with his manager (not in-house), they discovered that he'd put one small value into a wrong box. It's the corresponding box to the W-2, but THEY use a different box. All to say, changing things so frequently, even yearly, with video ONLY training and choosing to use a different boxes that aren't labeled to match the W-2, it is no wonder to me that the really nice guy was having troubles. He'd maybe do better at another tax company, where they're trained properly to do taxes, as they are acting as a go between, between taxpayers and our financial obligation to the US GOVERNMENT!!! Personally, I won't be making that error again. ***Added insult to injury: It's the next day, and the manager just called & left a vm. #1, my name is not CHRistY. #2, I walked in, fully prepared to pay for a 'professional' service and experience. What ensued was an allout circus and honestly reminded me of those age old apartment scams....#You can't see the inside of the apt unless you pay me money First and Then I'll drop the keys in the mail, wink wink". My time, and what money I do have, is worth more than what this H&R Block location seems to comsider 'professional'. I signed nothing, I authorized nothing, and I left with nothing. And I will not be returning. ***Additional add, 4 days later. I have a very busy 630am-430pm job. I keep getting missed calls and vm about coming back in. I was clear when I left that I will not be back. I called in last night and left a very clear message with a woman who answered my call, that i will not be back in. And the multiple reasons why. I didn't sign anything. I didn't consent to sign anything. I didn't authorize a signature on anything. And I didn't leave with anything but my own documentation. Yet, this place has done nothing but continue to harass me multiple times a day for the last 4 days. No means no. If you wanted to keep me as a customer, then my visit Friday would have been professional from start to finish. It was anything but. I will not be back. Stop harassing me.
