The Prospect Hollywood came very highly recommended when we started looking for somewhere to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary. Kiki, Mara and Raymond thank you for going above and beyond. Not only was the service 5 stars, there was an added level of kindness and attention to detail that is rare in the hospitality industry. As a huge fan of old school Hollywood art, design and glamour the architecture and interior design didnt disappoint! We were lucky enough to stay in the stunning A.M. Wong Grand Premiere room with a private terrace. If youre coming to hide in your room for a Netflix and chill type vacation, this may not be exactly right. Its an incredible place to walk to many great places in Hollywood - museums, performances, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shopping and so much more. As a disabled person, some rooms including the A.M. Wong, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean can only be accessed via stairs, however, they have done a phenomenal job making a historical property handicap accessible which I found to be incredibly special. The property is also very much so LGBTQ+ friendly and safe. Rooms: Unique, artistic classic design Nearby activities: Almost anything LA offers is close. Safety: Perfect Walkability: Perfect hotel location in all of Hollywood! Food & drinks: Bakery items at breakfast arent to be missed! They also offer a beautiful menu of snack foods that looked and smelled incredible. Noteworthy details: Handicap accessible, LGBTQ+ friendly

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It is so quaint and the attention to every single detail is remarkable. The in-room bar is so thoughtfully stocked. The bathrooms are equipped with high-end diptique products and spa robes. Don't even get me started on the linens - LUXE!!! The staff is also super accommodating. I didn't want to leave, honestly. Will be back.

A Gem of a boutique hotel. We will undoubtedly stay here again. Luxurious, elegant, brilliant bathroom. Friendly and sophisticated staff with character. Few points to make it even better experience: 1) a yoga mat 2) the staff could (or should be able to) share advice (depending on great conversation with guests) on neighborhood shops and restaurants which are as fantastic as The Prospect itself (e.g valid for us; classics like La Poubelle, Fred Segal, The Dresden, Larry Edmunds). Apparently, there is a list on the website but that can never be as personalized as is possible. In fact this list could be made sublime and a value in itself by 'recording' and sharing experiences of guests.

Loved the really comfy king sized bed and clawfoot bathtub in the "Premier" room named after Omar Sharif and decorated with a leopard print rug and deco styled wall paper. If possible, get a room on the second floor which puts you away from the courtyard patio noise below. The staff was really, really kind and helpful. For example, they went out of their way to offer umbrellas when it rained and good quality ice and strong coffee. Pros: * Mattress and pillows are overstuffed and soft, * Sheets are super soft, * Very helpful staff seem to enjoy their jobs or they are great actors, * Comfy chairs on the garden patio, perfect for having morning coffee or a cocktail, * It feels like a small boutique hotel, not too many guests, * complimentary morning coffee was strong and not bitter, * there is also a mini Keirig coffee maker in the room, * Premier rooms have a full mini bar refrigerator with 2 shelves, you could temporarily take the mini bar items out of and use to store small perishable items while you visit, * Beautiful quality barware and cocktail glasses, * Mini bar prices are about average for upscale hotels, * In-room TV is big and has high resolution, * Very clean rooms, * Outdoor fireplaces are lit at night creating a wonderful vibe, * Ubers and Lyft drivers usually arrive in 5 minutes or less because of the central location, Cons: * There are some "druggie" type people down the street at some kind of rehab center, but that is not the hotel's fault, * Not safe at night to walk alone in the area, not the hotels fault, * In room TV entertainment system that lets you login to apps such as Netflicks, Amazon Prime and other apps was out of order, but you can still watch local channels, so no big problem, * Bring earplugs because Hollywood police helicopters sometimes circle above the building area at 2 or 3 am in the morning (this happened 2 of the 3 early mornings I stayed at the hotel and went on for at least 20 minutes each time) so, if you are a light sleeper, it might wake you up, not the hotel's fault, but, be prepared, * No cafe lattes on site, just plain coffee, half and half, soy milk, oat milk Overall, the hotel is a great value for the price! I loved staying and would recommend it to anyone who likes to feel like they are in old school Hollywood. Rooms: Ask to reserve a room on the second floor in the middle and away from the public stairways. If you love a clawfoot bathtub, make sure to reserve a room with one. Safety: There is some kind of drug rehab or public resource center down the street. It does not feel safe at night to be walking around alone. It feels safe right in front of the hotel to stand wait for an Uber or Lyft ride. Noteworthy details: Very fancy mini bar with beautiful barware. Really nice courtyard patio with firepits and comfy lounge chairs.
