Two techs from Valley View took all of 10 minutes looking at the problem and decided it was from a leak in the roof causing a pool of water in my carpeting and charged me $150. The roof repair tech from Gentry Construction showed me that it could not be a leak from the roof causing a pool in my front room. It is coming from beneath the carpeting. They did not charge me for the visit and fixed a tile on the roof that was out of place. God Bless them! The question is will Valley View make this right? Will let you know.

No written estimate prior to beginning work, couldn’t check for leaks without my purchasing 2 quarter turn shut off valves at $25 each….$10 ea. on Amazon He Told me they no longer solder copper lines in the wall due to fire hazard and leaks, instead they use “very expensive crimp fittings” , on the final invoice there was NO break down as I requested other than labor total was this and parts total was that…no detail…according to the technician the senior discount was $120hr and he was on the site for 1.5hrs but he charged $205 labor for a total of $305 Additionally to use the crimping tool he had to cut one of the wall studs. And recapping my conversation with him he (technician) send it soldering would be an issue due to the water in the line… Which, in hindsight made no sense, because he still had to cut the line to install the sleeves that had to be crimped… The job was done well as far as the actual workmanship goes, but I feel I was overcharged for parts and possibly misled about the need for the use of the crimping tool, instead of on soldering and soldering of the fittings to complete the task

Technician was friendly and knowledgeable and his work was good, the clerk I spoke to in the office was courteous and promised to get my paid invoice to me by email. The poor rating is because the technician after seeing the work needed explain that they dont do soldering anymore for safety reasons like possibly burning down the house. And that they used to new Tool depress the fittings on the pipe and he explained that it was a better system But the couplings were really expensive , I became aware that, in order to use the tool to compress the fittings, he would have to cut one of the studs in the wall to accommodate the new tool, some think I think I shouldve been told ahead of time. Last, but not least, after moving the half inch copper waterline 4 to 6 inches to the left, so that the shut off valve would not interfere with the installation of the vanity. I now have two open copper lines, and any offers to sell me two new valves to accommodate the drop-down from five eights to 3/8 from the bathroom sink valve to the shut off valve for $25 each and when I hesitated he stated I could get the same valves for $16 at Ace Hardware. He asked me if I wanted these water leak tested and I said yes and at that point , I authorized him installing the new valves when the new valves shouldnt have been the factor at all because he was going to have to check his work anyway whether I bought new valves from him or not and thats the reason for the poor rating The technician was there for one and a half hours . The hourly rate was quoted over the phone to be $150 an hour Or $120 an hour for seniors to which I qualify Total bill was $305. The sheet rock was removed, there was no vanity in the way, and the line had to be moved approximately 4 to 6 inches
