Lived here three years. Overall it was a solid experience if you have to work out of Sacramento. Here is the good and the bad:THE GOOD:1.) Vehicle Parking!2.) Having a 24 hour concierge3.) Dog Friendly (This was a big one)4.) Easy transportation when you didn't need a car5.) Beautiful Surrounding Buildings especially the Cathedral6.) Didn't hurt that the restaurants along the block are amazing either.7.) The park is literally a block over which was great for dates and just getting off the pavement. THE BAD:1.) Perfect for single life, not so much once you start having kids.2.) You need to be picky about your apartment, some units have better views than the others. I upgraded my apartment after the first year. 3.) Traffic! Be careful what time of day you decide to run errands.Overall the lifestyle is what made this a good fit for me.

Don't rent from these people. They don't take care of the maintenance and will bilk you for your deposit in the end no matter how good you had it cleaned. I asked for everything from them prior to move out and they provided nothing and later charged me for it. Plus the homeless problem is rampant there. If you want to walk out of the building in the morning and see a big human poop, live here. Occasionally you will get a new resident in the lobby sleeping on the bench. Plus they don't tell you the trolley schedule, that darn trolley runs 20 hours out of the day every fifteen minutes on the hour. It shakes the building and screeches across the tracks. The frequency of the screech would rise the hair on my body. Just stay away from this place.

My bull terrier Floyd and I have lived at Cathedral Building Lofts for three years and I love it here. The one-bedroom units have walls of glass that goes from ceiling to floor. The wall in the kitchen/living room has a sliding glass door and a Juliet balcony. I have spent much time sliding back the door, leaning over and keeping tabs on the activities on 12th and K Street. The building is now smoke free and outside smoking has to be 20 feet away from the building entrances. I have lived in some smoky places so this policy is a treat for me.Property manager Michele Pereira is friendly, helpful and personable. Any maintenance requests I make are promptly addresses. It has a rooftop deck that is also smoke-free and shady all day. I have reserved it for parties and it has a great view of the Elks Building. The best feature for me is the location, right there in the most urban location in the city. I love the coffee places, cafes and bakeries just a few blocks away. Ambrosia Cafe is only one block away. Floyd likes the incredible state capitol park just one short block away.Anyone looking for a home in downtown/midtown would do well by checking out Cathedral Building Lofts.
