Dr. Katharine Hinchcliff

Dr. Hinchcliff assisted my surgeon, Dr. Michael Campbell, at UC Davis. I was not introduced to her prior to the surgery nor afterwards. I was coerced into surgery against my will by Dr. Campbell. When I told him I had changed my mind about surgery and wanted to leave the hospital, Dr. Campbell drugged me into compliance and submission. Dr. Hinchcliffe was a resident at the time and I was merely a training tool and a class to pass during her residency. Imagine my surprise when she was tasked with calling me after my surgery to respond to some concerns I had. I had no idea who she was as my actual surgeon, Dr. Campbell, apparently did not want to invest the time in to speaking with me. Dr. Hinchcliff lacked a compete skill set on the phone. She was not empathetic or kind and, frankly, she acted annoyed and impatient with me. My surgical scar is one of the worst I have seen. Imagine my surprise when I learned that she was training to be a plastic surgeon. I definitely do not recommend her.

How lucky we have been to have Dr. Hinchcliff!! It took years for my son to be diagnosed with venous malformation. My son, who is on the Autism Spectrum, was left handed was no longer able to write naturally due to pain. So, when we finally got diagnosed, I was relieved. Due to Covid, it took 6 months to get his surgery scheduled. My son was so anxious and scared. At our pre-op, he asked so many questions, etc Dr. Hinchcliff took the time to bring my son back into her office where she pulled up his MRI and walked him through each step. Her calm kind demeanor was just what my son needed. He left the office that day feeling confident that everything will be fine. He was pretty anxious the day of surgery- but thats normal. His surgery was a success and today we are going in to get his cast removed. He cant wait!! Thank you so much Dr. Hinchcliff! You just changed my sons life forever. I am forever grateful for you.
