        SAW A RATTLESNAKE!! The trail is currently very overgrown and lots of loose gravels, making it a bit difficult to descend. The lake is surrounded by fences. Lots of beautiful wildflowers! Most of the pretty flowers are closer to the Pentachaeta trail (from the entrance, left), not so much on the Westlake View trail (from the entrance, right).

        Nice spot for a quick workout after work... before the sun sets. Finally did the whole loop. Wowza! That was an intense hike!

        You can walk / hike along the Santa Monica Mountains. Its an easy hike.
