    Made an appointment to view a property that was available immediately, only to drive from Colorado Springs up to Stapleton & the tenant was still living there... no realtor in sight. I called the office (and dealt with a very pleasant woman, ironically named Felicia) and was notified that I was emailed about cancelling my showing. I checked & sure enough... I had an email 15 minutes before the showing to cancel. Instead of calling, and notifying me and offering for me to see other properties... They sent an email. A woman was quick to come back to the location and actually meet me and show me a unit in the exact same building that was vacant but not available. I applied for the unit that I was not able to see immediately upon leaving. I received an automated email 4 days later that the unit was rented out to another applicant... totally fine. But a phone call... during all of this would have been much appreciated, rather than relying on automated emails. I realize I was applying for a unit that was VERY cheap... but the only reason was that it was a 4 minute walk to my new place of employment. I would have gladly worked with them to find a different location... but the lack of communication is a huge red flag. I will be moving on to another property management company.

    I have rented two units from this company. I lived in one unit from July 2020 - April 2021, and just moved into the second unit in April 2021. It was not my preference to rent from them, but because my property owner sold my unit, I only had 60 days to move out and needed to move quickly. I have had problems with both apartments. To start with, we weren't given all the correct keys to our unit when we moved in July so we spent an entire day putting in a service request and waiting for a locksmith to come help. At our second unit, we were only given one key for two people and no garage clickers until we asked. First, you will pay a $300 cleaning fee when you rent with TP, but don't expect your unit to be clean when you move in. At my first property, the floor was covered in animal hair and we had to rent a carpet cleaner for all the floors, plus the unit was very dusty and clearly was not cleaned by a professional. There wasn't much different at our second unit. The fridge was full of food, the front and back gates were broken, the garage was full of garbage, the yard was full of garbage and you could run your hand along the ground and come up with a dirty hand. Second, don't expect things to be fixed in a timely manner. When I moved into my first unit, two drawers immediately broke, the fireplace didn't work, the disposal didn't work, the two remotes for the lights in the bedrooms didn't work and the heat didn't work upstairs or downstairs. None of those things were ever fixed, except the heater and that was only after communicating with them frantically before the snow came in the fall. Overall, my biggest problem with Top Properties is the people who work there. They aren't communicative because you have to send multiple emails with the same question to get an answer. Then when they respond, they don't answer your questions or belittle you. Further, expect to wait the entire 60 days to receive your security deposit back and not to receive any communication from them about your move in or move out. I am very disappointed in my experience with Top Properties, and I am only renting with them now because I didn't have another choice. I would not recommend this property management company.
