I literally never knew this fountain was here until today. It is absolutely beautiful, and I loved walking around it and looking at all the statues. Ill definitely have to come back in a few weeks once it is running.

I have been to this fountain several times and the grandeur of the setting makes quite an impression. At the base of capital hill in Hartford, The sculptor and the benefactor clearly did not understand native Hartford cultures, as the indigenous people portrayed seem to be mostly plains Indians. With historical inaccuracies aside, it was made in the late 1800s and an homage to the patrons father but also to indigenous people of this area. I for one love it, its beautiful and in need of some TLC. But overall worth a stop to see it. The one distraction was the homeless woman washing her clothes in the fountain, but that is a discussion fir another day.
