Blackbird

I have enjoyed living at Blackbird for almost two years now. The amenities are great--the gym has all that I need and is never too crowded. Any maintenance needs have been quickly resolved and the staff was so helpful when I moved to a larger unit earlier this year. Bertha and Angel have been very responsive to any questions I have and they are so sweet to my dog, who loves to visit them during the day. It's really nice to live in a building that feels like a community and the Roost below makes it even better!

Going on my third year living at the Blackbird, so I would say I love it! I looked at all the buildings in the area (Lockwood, Beckerts, Rushmore, etc.) and Blackbird overall stood out from the rest. Highlights include: The Roost right downstairs w/tenant credit, good move-in special, Peloton Bikes and Treadmills, metro right across the street, proximity to Eastern Market, and finally Angel/Bertha from building management. Angel has been here since I moved in and Bertha not long after so from my perspective, there's been consistent leadership in the leasing office. Every time I've had a maintenance issue, the staff have fixed immediately. Highly recommend if you want to live in Southeast, enjoy some move-in perks, and don't want a huge building. Only draw-back has been the pool but when you weigh all the other pros, Blackbird comes out far ahead.

I've enjoyed my years living at Blackbird. Much of my experience has been under the great management and leadership of Angel and Berta along with the amazing maintenance staff. From the unique/fun events, speedy communication, and convenient location this is a truly a community.

We love living here and enjoy so many of our neighbors in the building. Community parties and events have tapered off sadly, but have always been great fun and built a real community here. Angel has been instrumental in making sure his staff are accountable and professional, and when they werent they were gone. Bertha and Willy have been excellent and so are the maintenance gents.

I am a resident at the Blackbird apartments. I have been with Blackbird for 2 years & love everything about it. The amenities are top notch with a full restaurant & bar downstairs, the gym & the clubhouse which are fully equipped with state of the art grills & TV. I have also been impressed with the management who I have grown to know individually. They take the time to host events which foster an inclusive & fun environment. I always love to attend and never like to miss. The management is also very unique. Bertha & Angel are always there for conversation & information. With those two in control, i know we are in good hands. I have grown to know Angel Cardoso, who makes property upkeep a top priority for all of his residents. He is always keeping the place at its best by hiring the right people to achieve that purpose. I feel he puts residents needs' at the core of his making Blackbird a memorable place to live. If u ask me, he has achieved this because I am a satisfied resident! It's always a pleasure to see & talk with him. Angel is also very easy to talk with & accessible to us residents. Bertha always makes every event fun & relatable to the residents. In conclusion, love the team, love the accommodations & love the amenities. I am proud that I get to call Blackbird home. Ayanna Davy
