This office is owned by Andy Koehneke, who is also my agent. Andy is a very busy guy, but I scored an in-person meeting. As most people in Florida are finding out, home insurance rates are almost doubled. I went from $4500 a year to $8700 a year. Andy took the time to work out great coverage but reduced my increase to a manageable amount. The most significant change that saved me was switching to binding arbitration, which meant I gave up the right to sue. What has happened in Florida is that roofs can be repaired, but the homeowner automatically knows if they sue, they get a new roof. I have gone through two hurricanes and suffered some damage, but I repaired my roof.
