The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale

Accidentally booked here for a tip next weekend, got the hotel name/location wrong and noticed after booking. Once I found this out I immediately contacted my travel agency (this was well within 24 hours of the booking) who contacted the hotel. The hotel escalated my request for a refund/cancellation to the manager who ultimately denied my cancellation and I was given a penalty charge for a full night + fees of this very expensive hotel. Not the type of customer service anyone deserves for a basic innocent mistake like that.

The only person who was working front desk yesterday evening, a lady who I regretfully did not get her name, was so disgustingly rude. I truly have no idea how this hotel has someone like her representing them at the front. She made the arrival experience for our day pass horrific.

Hello everyone Im back, let me refresh your memory we have ambassador elite status, I only mention this because in order to have this level you must have a minimum of 100 nights in Marriott hotels, and spend $23,000 in one year. So here we go! 6 months ago we booked 2 oceanfront rooms at the Ritz for Tortuga from Fri-Sun, last min we added Thurs. also oceanfront. We arrived around 10 pm and they put us in a room on the 12th floor with a intracoastal view, now my husband said no he went and looked at the reservation on his phone and because they already checked us in it changed. So he went to his phone and took screenshots of our 2 fri reservations, (because he knew what they were going to try to pull some funny stuff. So he went to the front desk and asked why we dont have an oceanfront room, they said o you booked partial oceanfront and he said I knew you were going to try that so I took screenshots of my reservations lets look at them together (hahaha got ya) they said well you cant book oceanfront with points but WE DID and we did it 6 months ago!!!! Needless to say we only got 1 oceanfront room. So now am I going to get reimbursed for this view as opposed to oceanfront? Huh not as of yet! I think its pretty sad that when you reach the top level at Marriott this is how your treated! Ive included my view thats not oceanfront! Also, the shower was less than 36 inches wide so my husband couldnt even bend over to wash his feet, I think the shower in an tv is bigger! Rooms: The room had the smallest shower I had ever seen, Im 54 115lbs and it was tight for me imagine how my 62 280lb husband felt Walkability: Pretty much central to everything Food & drinks: Amazing food Noteworthy details: The spa is awesome, I would recommend staying somewhere else but visiting the spa!
