I retained Kevin twice. I believed Kevin was an honest and genuine lawyer who wouldn't negotiate with his clients, but on the second occasion, he negotiated with me. This time, he crafted a letter that was okay, but there were nuances that I didn't like. However, I didn't bring them up since negotiation was the main task. His 'negotiation' consisted of listening to the other party and then negotiating with me based on their demands.
In the end, I negotiated with the other party on my own. I found Kevin's language to be unclear, which deceives his clients. I do understand English, as I graduated with the highest honors from the best undergraduate program in Florida.
Additionally, Kevin speaks loudly and doesn't seem to listen to his clients, which allows him to prioritize what he believes is 'legal' over clients best interests.
His calculation of my rent amount wasn't entirely accurate, but I didn't make an issue out of it since law is a verbal field.
What I really wanted meet a lawyer who does the 'right' things, not just the 'legal' ones. Unfortunately, I've only met one or two such lawyers in Miami.
