I had booked a room for this hotel through the Bonvoy app, as I am a Marriott elite member for upcoming travel out of MIA. I had recently been sent a replacement Visa after some fraudulent activity and it escaped my mind to update my new card in the app. Then today I received an email from this hotel cancelling my reservation because they had attempted to charge my old card. Now I understand had it not escaped me to update my visa in the Bonvoy app this would be a non issue, but the fact the hotel didnt even have the decency to call me directly to fix is extremely rude. They even knew the hotel was sold out when they cancelled my reservation. I am honestly appalled with how this was handled, especially being an elite member. Poor decision by the management and I will never book at this location again when flying out of MIA. When I called the Bonvoy reservation line the representative who assisted me was also extremely shocked at how this was handled. Fortunately, I was able to upgrade to a better Marriott nearby. I look forward to writing them an excellent review as I often do after my stays. Also, I suggest you please stop addressing your customers as valued guests when emailing them. You do not value them at all. Quite frankly if you did value me or my business, you would have picked up the phone and I would have seen you this Wednesday as originally planned.
