Gulf Coast Fly Fishing Charters

Brad took a buddy and myself (who are very inexperienced fly fishers) out in Louisiana and gave us every opportunity we could ask for! One of the most passionate outdoorsman I have met and would definitely recommend!

I am a bird photographer visiting Louisiana and I hired Brad Lowman of Gulf Coast Fly to take me into the marsh so I could photograph birds. Brad knows where the birds will be because hes in the marsh all the time guiding fly fishermen. And, Brad is also a photographer and he understood what I needed to make quality photos. He has the perfect boat for this adventure- low sides, shallow drag, a motor to get there fast, and an electric motor to sneak in to hidden coves. And, if needed he has a long pole to move us in and out of tight spots. Brad was so accommodating of my demands for getting in the right position and more. He didnt even blink an eye when I said Is like to get out of the boat and on to the shore. The water was rough in this one spot but thats where the birds were so we made the adjustment. Brad jumped right into the water and got me to shore while preventing the boat from crashing onto the mounds of oyster shells. Im so glad I found Captain Brad who worked very hard to make it a successful outing.

Brad was a fantastic guide. We went down right at the tail end of the season, conditions were tough but Brad had us in fish all day. Amazing experience. Cant say enough good things. Thank again Brad. Cant wait to do it again.

Ive been out with Capt. Matt a few times and hes awesome! He works extremely hard, and provides you with ample opportunities to catch fish. He put me on my first tarpon and biggest snook!

I made the trek to st Pete area last may, and my initial fishing plans with a good friend fell through, which left me scrambling to find a guide - having never fished the area - on a whim I reached out to gulf coast, and heard back from captain Matt quickly to my surprise. Matt was able to shift some things around and fit me in on a half day trip. We had some pretty nasty weather blowing into the area, but Matt had a game plan, tucked us in to the backcountry mangroves, and within 10 minutes saw a very nice tarpon free jumping. We had rollers going off everywhere. Matt was incredibly knowledgeable about his fishery, and was super accommodating. He had great gear, and was happy to let me try out some rods/fly lines I had been interested in trying. While my time schedule didnt allow for us to boat any fish, Matt was more than willing to grind it out as long as necessary to get me my first tarpon, and for me that speaks volumes about his character and integrity as a guide. Id recommend him to anyone who wants to experience fly fishing the Tampa Bay Area, and I will definitely be back for more.
