Holiday Inn Express Stuart, an IHG Hotel

No bathroom available to honors members. Young boy wanted to use and they refused.

This new or recently updated property was mostly what I expect from my frequent visits to HIE. I visited in late Feburary weekdays and there were few other guests. My front desk experience was slightly disappointing when I wasn't offered help when I was obviously limping badly; I know that's not SOP at hotels like this, but it would have been nice to have been asked since there were very few guests and staff wasn't busy. One big caveat: even though the property appears new or refreshed, the room had a tub rather than a shower--what adult uses a tub? But the problem is that the surface of the tub is slippery; there is no special grippy treatment or a mat to keep soapy feet from slipping and cracking ones head. If you're young and able-bodied, probably no problem, but if you have mobilty or balance issues (I had a recovering foot wound), you shouldn't take a shower here. Less important but still annoying, the pump soaps and shelves were installed on the opposite wall away from the shower head, meaning you have to keep turning around on the slippery floor. The usual breakfast items were mared by super overcooked crusty eggs (see pic), it was an engineering project getting the mostly little dry crumbles onto a fork. Having visited many HIE sites, I know that this is not their standard way of cooking eggs. Positives include a good TV, plenty of outlets, comfortable bed, and an effective blackout curtain.
