I am so grateful for his help and calming demeanor! I arrived stressed & he put me at ease and got me into the perfect rental for my family and I. This was an appalling experience. A tyre burst in the middle of nowhere at night in Hawaii and inexplicably there was no spare. I spent an hour on the phone trying to arrange assistance. The operator told me they couldn't find a tow and that I should get a hotel. I was required to find a tow number. The tow driver eventually dropped me at my accomodation 25 miles outside of town. When I asked how I would pick up the replacement car, he said Budget would bring it to me or arrange transportation - a tour guide subsequently confirmed that the car should have been brought to me when I mentioned it. I called early the next morning just after 6am to arrange this, especially as I had an expensive tour booked for that afternoon. After 45 minutes going in circles, I was advised that an Uber was on the way. I waited for well over an hour and the Uber didn't show. I called back. Over the next 45 minutes the operator repeatedly told me that there were no Ubers in the area. No attempt was made to organise alternative transport. He gave me the number of an Uber driver saying that I would have negotiate with him directly and pay for it myself. That number proved to be incorrect. At this stage, I was having a panic attack because I had no idea how I was to get into town. I then hiked down the highway until I eventually managed to find a bus into town. I then needed to pay for an Uber from Hilo to the airport to pick up the replacement car. Through this driver, I discovered that an Uber had been dispatched but to an incorrect address only 4 miles outside of Hilo, not 25 miles - his cousin was that driver and he recognised my name. That first driver called roadside assistance back when he arrived at the incorrect address - they clearly knew that they had sent him to the wrong address nowhere near me, but did nothing to rectify the situation. No explanation was given to me at the airport regarding why there was no spare tyre. This was all appalling dealt with and extremely stressful. It also wasted a large amount of my time on my final day in Hawaii. I want an apology and a refund.
