You can use a card now (which does take something away from the grittiness of the cactus which is why I love it) but the 6 dollar ATM fees quickly smooth that little wrinkle right over. The staff is amazing - they do open mic stand up (which doesn't get enough hype - it is so much better than listening to some halfwit do Wonderwall on their Takamine) and they have the cheapest strongest pours in the entire city (Anyone who knows me ((which is noone)) knows I would know)

We bought St. Patricks day tickets for the bar block party downtown. Cactus was on the list. We stopped there first because we could get a free shot with a drink purchase. It was hardly busy and they didnt serve us. We waited at the bar for 15 minutes & nobody even stopped to take our order. Ive been there when it was far busier & had better service. We decided to just leave & come back after our bar crawl to get our free shot. When we came back, Matt refused to let me us in. He said I was too drunk. All I asked is if I had to show my ID because I had a wrist band. I had gone to other bars on our ticket list & they didnt ID us to enter, so it wasnt a stupid question. I wasnt stumbling or overly drunk to the point where Id hurt myself or anyone else. Even other people walking by us thought it was so bizarre! We decided to just go home at that point & waited for an Uber right outside the bar. We watched him let several women in without checking their IDs. I used to really love cactus bar, but I would not recommend it after this experience. It made me so sad the way Matt treated me. He was condescending and was basically laughing at us while we waited for an Uber. We paid for these tickets and wanted to redeem them but the first time we came they didnt serve us, & the second time they wouldnt let us in
