515 W Barry - PPM Apartments

Ive been living here for 7 months now and I have another 11 months left on my lease. Its EXPENSIVE. Rent is expensive, plus all of the other bills on top of that. This property management company does not care about you. Ive contacted them on multiple occasions about the extreme heat. Typically, in apartments when there is a radiator, you have the ability to turn it off or turn it down. NOT HERE. You cannot adjust the dry heat that gets pushed through your apartment unnecessarily. I keep my windows open and its still high 70s/80+ degrees. So Ive come to the point where I have to continue to keep my AC units on throughout the winter months. Meaning my electricity bill stays at the peak cost year-round. Ive asked them to work with me and handle part of the electricity bill while the heat is on and making my apartment uncomfortable to live in theyve refused. Ive had to purchase a air purifier, humidifier, I put damp towels over the radiator all in attempt to make my apartment a comfortable temperature The only days my apartment have been comfortable with this intense heat is when its negative degrees outside and my windows are cracked With all the money you have to pay to live in these little apartments, you think theyd be able to make sure you have a comfortable living situation. When they say the electric bill (not including comed) can be anywhere between $30-$80 a month, just know its $80 year-round. I cannot emphasize this enough, Marin, the building engineer has done his job so well. 10/10. I do not at all fault him for the discomfort of my living situation. At this point, the only solution can come from the people who cash my checks. They are not willing. This issue has been going on since November. Good luck.

Very happy with this building! The location is fantastic and has made my transition to city living easy. The entire company was great to work with, especially Tess. If you are looking to live in Lakeview, I highly recommend Planned Property Management.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT LIVE UNDER A WOOD FLOOR, it is very loud, creaky and it will torture you on everyday and night. Every casual walk from the neighbor above sounds like a 500KG animal stampeding. Other than that it is a nice location, central, well maintained and secure. There is a Marianos and a gym across the street. Everything you can ever ask for. They really need to update the wood floors.
