1000 N LaSalle - PPM Apartments

1. The elevators in this building not only routinely break down (they are currently down as I write this review), but they are a safety hazard as SEVERAL guests have reported being trapped inside for extended periods of time. The certificates of inspection as of 3/11/24 are expired. 2. My car was broken into in August of 2023. Inside, I found a used condom, a bottle of urine, cigarette ashes, graffiti, and damage to the upholstery. After checking security camera footage, the perpetrator was seen checking the doors of all vehicles for 55 minutes. Our overnight door person was asleep on the job. This all could have been avoided if they simply were awake and called 911. 3. The washers/dryers are in dire need of replacement as many residents have reported they do not work. 4. Profanity and racial slurs were found carved into the third floor elevator doors. When I reported them to our building manager, the maintenance men waited a full four days to cover them up. 5. My license plates were stolen in January of 2024. The new parking spot in which my car was located has no security camera. 6. A rug that was soiled with dog urine remained in the hallway of the third floor for a week, even after I told our building manager about the odor. She, the maintenance men, and door staff all ignored several requests to have it removed. The urine stains and odor remained in the hallway until I removed the rug, myself. 7. There are several tenants who routinely smoke on the third floor. Our building manager cannot do anything about it, nor does PPM corporate seem to care. Complaints have been filed against one specific tenant for over two weeks and, according to building manager, PPM corporate has yet to take action. 8. A number of door staff sleep on the job. Many tenants have commented on door staff being asleep at all hours of the day. I, personally, have woken up at least five different door staff personnel in nine months of living here.

Please, don't be fooled by all of these 5 star fake reviews below. Terrible place to live. I would not recommend living here to anyone. The elevators are terrible and usually do not work. The door staff is constantly rude and super unprofessional. You feel guilty asking the door staff to help with anything because they make it seem like you are inconveniencing their life so much. Not to mention, the worst heat/AC situation I could ever imagine living in. The AC does not turn on until mid May - June, so this means you get to spend all of April/May sweating in your own apartment because it is 80 degrees. There are also only 7 or 8 washer/dryers for the entire building, so good luck trying to find a time where there are multiple open, especially on a weekend.

If I could give more than 5 starts I would! Simona has been so amazing to work with and has answered every call/text immediately. I needed to find a place quickly and she has been so helpful & it was such a quick process with the application.

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with PPM thus far. Simona is an incredible property manager willing to go above and beyond for her tenants. Shes very responsive and works to find the right solution as quickly as possible. As a new resident, its very reassuring to know someone like Simona is in the office!

Simona is wonderful. She responds right away to any message and makes sure that Im safe and comfortable in my apartment. I know that shes always just a phone call away if I need anything - so important to me.
