Update: Once we were actually able to get in touch with Diego, he was extremely helpful; it just took way too much initial persistence to get to the right person. But I appreciate the speedy resolution once we got in touch. (Oh, also shouldve mentioned in the initial review, maintenance is amazing. Super quick, super cool. Theyve been amazing). A gorgeous apartment and location, an abysmal management company. Youd think with all the shock and sorrow they express in their replies to all the one-star reviews echoing the same sentiments over and over, they would at least try to improve. Ive been trying to get a major issue resolved for a week now, and its impossible to get in touch with the office. When they do pick up, they promise to have someone else call back, and dont. When they finally respond to an email, its to deflect any responsibility. No one *loves* the people they pay rent to, but this has been disappointing on a whole other level.

CLK is a truly abysmal management company, which refused to do basic maintenance on my apartment for more than a yearincluding fixing a leak in the ceiling which damaged my property. They are unresponsive and finally fixed the ceiling only when they'd located a potential buyer for the property and didn't want to show it to the buyer with a leak in the ceiling of the top-floor unit. These are shady, shady people. If you can avoid renting from them, I recommend it.

Overall just an OK place to live. Pros: unbeatable location within walking distance to several popular neighborhoods. In-unit W&D. Updated kitchens/appliances. Neighbors for the most part are quiet and respectful. Cons: Old old building w/ uneven heating, bug problems in the summer. Package theft. Hit or miss with management. To illustrate my last point, I had sewage back up into my bathtub (along with a nonfunctioning toilet that would flush directly into my shower). The emergency maintenance guy promptly came to my apartment in the middle of the night but wasn't able to fix the issue on the spot, leaving me with no choice but to find accommodations for that night. CLK could not have been any less interested in providing any sort of compensation (let alone an apology) for the major inconvenience and simply directed me to put in a maintenance request. When all was said and done, nobody bothered to clean up the sewage that was left my bathtub in the aftermath. It wasn't until I made a very angry phone call that someone bothered to come by to clean it up. YMMV. Granted you don't have any major issues with your apartment like I did, you'll have a totally fine experience living here.

Literally the worst experience I have had with renting. I've had someone break into my car, break into my mailbox, steal my mail and when I called and asked them to AT LEAST put cameras in the parking lot and mail room they didn't say a word. Other issues revolve around getting a hold of them. If you have a billing issue good luck. The property manager for the Elaine place location is the least responsive person as well. Numerous emails and phone calls and I still have yet to hear back... When I was setting up my utilites they refused to give me the proper address for my apartment and just told me to reference who lived there previously to the and they "should be able to figure it out from there". They also rely on a very sketchy third party for something related to utilites (I recieved a bill from this company to pay for gas THAT I ALREADY PAY TO PEOPLES GAS DIRECTLY!!) And when trying to solve this issue they are just vacant.. You would literally be better off living ANYWHERE else. If you have to work with Laura prepare for the least help possible. To update my experience: I've had multiple issues yet again with not only management but maintenance as well. When they replaced the toilets their maintenance team left my bathroom in a mess and left caulk all over the floor and even on my bathmats. They also stole my hand towel (which CLK offered to reimburse me for) but replacing a $3 hand towel is the least of my concerns, they literally stole something... Then there was on ongoing issue with a tenant that required them to get ARMED SECUIRTY to monitor the courtyard and specific building because that tenant threatened to kill another resident. They refused to inform everyone else living in the courtyard of the reasoning behind the fully armed guards, I only knew because I knew the resident he threatened. I dont blame how long it took them to evict this specific tenant with COVID and eviction laws, but telling your surrounding residents why there is a strange man following them into the complex with a bullet proof vest and fully loaded gun would probably be a good idea. Lastly one night I accidently blew a fuse (Dumb on my part but it happens) When this fuse went out I completely lost power IN MY ENTIRE APARTMENT. No lights and no air conditioning on a fairly hot night. It turns out there was not a fuse box located in my unit so I resorted to calling their emergency maintenance line. I called them 3-4 times and left a voice mail each time. No response. I left for a while trying to get to a place where it wasn't hot and could charge my phone. I come back and the power is still out. still no response. I then decide to go to bed. Wake up at 5 am the next day and STILL NO POWER. I call emergency maintenance again to let them know its been over 12 hours with no power in my apartment. I fall asleep and wake up a few hours later and suddenly I have power again. But no one still reached out to me. The power went out on a Friday. Monday rolls around and I was lucky enough to receive a phone call from their office asking me if I had power... Yes they waited 2 days to ask if I had power on a relatively hot weekend...I told her I did but no one seemed to call me even after the power was turned on. They acted surprised and said that was not good, I agreed... They have been losing a lot of residents too because of all of these practices and awful property management. The last thing I think is important to say is that my negative review shouldn't take away from the positive reviews and the positive reviews shouldn't take away from my negative review. Just make sure you do your research, if you want to role the dice and possible have an experience like mine and several other reviewers then go for it...
