I am currently staying in a Blueground in Wicker Park. I arrived three days ago. One day in, my key fab to access the unit stopped working. Currently, I can't access the unit without calling the property manager hotline for the building and asking them to remotely grant access to my apartment. When I called to get access yesterday (around 2 PM), the operator warned me that she wasn't sure if anyone would be around to grant access when her shift ended at 3 PM. I asked her to clarify: how would I get into my apartment without a working key fab or the ability to call the hotline? She said "I'm not sure, but people keep quitting and I'm just not sure if there is anyone to work the 3 PM shift." As of now, the only way we can reliably maintain access to our apartment is for I or my significant other to stay in the apartment and grant access to the other. I've called Blueground 5+ times about this, and they seem mostly unbothered. They say they're working on it and blame the holiday weekend. But I arrived on Friday, June 30. This was well before 4th of July. And when you work in hospitality, "holiday weekend" is an untenable excuse. I requested a relocation, at which point a Blueground rep emailed me doubting the problem exists at all: "As per our Guest Operations Specialist, it should be okay to get in and out of the apartment if there was no issue yesterday when you moved in. Regardless, the building team should address this concern ASAP." Their building team has not "addressed this concern ASAP." I am very disappointed with my Blueground experience, and I would caution others against renting through the platform. Blueground blames the property/building manager. The property/building manager blames Blueground. I have no contract with The Flats, the property/building manager, so I frankly don't care how their shortcomings play into the mess. I just want it FIXED. And thus far, Blueground seems unwilling to accept responsibility and fix anything.

Scam scam scam!!! We had a terrible experience staying here. It is not that the customer service doesn't respond, they do, but it's never with any kind of help! The answer is always we'll get back to you. I have no idea if I'll ever see my deposit back. We had no AC when the temperature was 90 degrees, and there was no communication between the building and blueground. It is also incredibly expensive once you factor in all their hidden costs. I would've stayed with AirBnb or a different company had I known. We had a package arrive the day after we moved outz and I continue to get updates about how it has not shipped back to me. What kind of company updates you on no progress?!? Their customer service is so incredibly frustrating, they never know what your issue is, even though it's clearly documented in the app. Terrible company. A reminder to always always always check reviews before booking anything.
