I called to ask if I could get a refund on a motorized W/C that I had ordered for my ailing mother that we going to take on a cruise. When I got the W/C, my mom was incapable of using it because of her mental and physical limitations as she had no experience using this particular one. I called ScootAround requested a cancel and refund immediately within minutes of realizing this. They were not willing to provide any consideration. The W/C sat for 7 nights without being used during our cruise. I called again 3 weeks later to appeal this decision. The person I spoke to escalated to her supervisor and they still would not compensate me for this loss.

Zero stars I ordered one and got it confirmed. 1 hour later, the rep called me and said Id have to take it back earlier than expected. At first, we agreed upon 7pm, next she wants me to get it back to them at 3pm. After complaining, she says 4:30pm. Then says maybe I can leave it at the front desk. Im not comfortable with that. They charge me a 30 dollar fee because THEY want to changed the initial agreement. Then they have the audacity to charge me an extra 5 dollars for meet and greet. I heard children crying in the background and the woman was very unprofessional when asking questions. Do not work with these people. I never seen such unprofessional conduct in my life.

This company does not honor the pricing they post on their website. The website for Washington DC shows 5 day rental is $166 and I was quoted $180. The next size scooter shows on website as $146, I was quoted $165. When I asked , the clerk said that was the quote that came up. Can you really trust this company??

Horrible experience! Rented a mobility scooter for my husband for a long weekend vacation in Washington DC. About an hour after taking possession, the scooter died in the middle of the National Mall. Their customer service phone number takes you to somewhere offshore. I heard roosters in the background. She was reading out of a manual and was giving advice that was totally irrelevant. We were about a mile from our hotel and they couldnt even reach a local representative to help. My husband was having a panic attack, with good reason. It was raining and we were forced to rely on total strangers to help push the scooter back to our hotel. Which would seize up every 10 feet or so even though the brake was released. It was so traumatic that we booked a flight back home at additional expense after the long distance customer service representative told us we wouldnt have a new scooter until late the next morning. They did drop a new scooter at the bell stand in the evening but neglected to inform us and I had already paid the airline fee to change our flight. Though they had said they would refund our rental fee, its a week later and that has yet to happen. Use a local company that can respond and resolve issues! Scootaround is terrible!
