Update to previous review: WILL NOT HIRE AGAIN due to terrible follow up on repeat request to come back and replace flooring in kitchen. Multiple emails never returned. Very disappointed having to start from scratch finding a new flooring contractor. Wonderful job removing old tile in old house and breathing life into not only the bathroom, but hallway, stairs, and bedroom. This 120 year old house needed flooring TLC, and Kurt’s ability to assess and recommend flooring within my budget was excellent. Refinished original hardwood stairs and they are lovely. He did not rush and paid attention to detail that really made a difference. Saving for more floors on another level. Will hire again!

Kurt came on Thanksgiving Day (Who does that?) to do a walk through and give us a quote! We excepted his quote and he started the very next day! My main contact, Robin, also later on Thanksgiving Day answered the phone and answered all of my questions before he even started. My wife and I gave him a pretty tight deadline to have the job finished. (The entire house is hardwood flooring by the way)... Kurt worked past 9:00 p.m. at night, and on the weekend (Even on Sunday) to get the job finished for us! And he did it! We could not be happier with the attention to detail and the quality of work that he gave us. The floors look amazing. We will definitely recommend his services to anyone that I know. KDS just completed installing ¾ “ hardwood in 2 of our bedrooms. Our home is 45 years old, and the subfloor was particle board installed over plywood. Old carpet was removed and disposed of, the old subfloor was removed, the new subfloor was installed, proper underlayment put down and the hardwood and trim was installed. Kurt’s workmanship is superb and the transition into the 2 rooms with the already existing hardwood in the hallway and living room is flawless! This was a multi-day job, and when we returned home from work each evening, the work areas were perfectly cleaned. Communication with the KDS personnel was outstanding! Within minutes of sending an inquiry through the “Thumbtack” website, I received a call from their sales manager, Josh, asking if I’d like someone to visit, review the project & take measurements for an estimate. I said, “Yes, please!” Within minutes he called back asking if Kurt could come over early that same evening. Kurt called when he was on the way with his ETA. The next morning, the quote was emailed to me, followed by a call from Robin to discuss it in detail. Outstanding communication, fair price and excellent results! We were more than satisfied with the quality of work that Kurt and his team did in our home. We wanted a product that they don't normally carry and they went out of their way to track it down and get it for us. We needed an old floor (lots of tile) removed along with carpet before the new floor could be installed. We also had a squeaky spot that needed attention. The sub floor they put in was meticulously done and took care of the squeak. The office was prompt in responding to any questions and keeping me updated on progress since we were on vacation while the floor was being removed. When we returned home everything was very neatly cleaned up even though the project wasn't complete. The floor looks amazing. The price was more than competitive with surrounding businesses for the same product and I believe we had the best installation we could ever ask for. It is without reservation that I will recommend KDS to any of my friends who are looking for any new flooring and installation. Thank you for making our new floor and home beautiful!
