I drove a elderly Man to this insurance company office. He recently had his driver's license revoked until a medical review can be done. The office was closed, as it is every Wednesday after lunch as I remember, I could be mistaken. Nonetheless, there was someone inside. I could hear movement inside and the pickup parked at the door was the confirmation. I explained the situation to the elderly Man. The person inside was aware of our presence, that I am certain of. I was able to talk Mr. Customer into dropping a check in the mail slot and we left for the next errand on his list. The issue isn't that they were closed, which was clearly marked and advertised. The issue is poor customer service. When doing business with anyone or a company as a whole, I expect to be treated with common curiosity and respect, and I am certain my Older friend is receiving that now. My issue is that an 85 year old Man Is going to forget things, it is a fact. I'm also well aware that when in my office doing the catch up that is required for most jobs, I don't need interruptions, I need to finish the paperwork. As a salesperson I am also aware that I must have enough common sense to adjust fire depending on the crumstances. When providing a service to anyone it's my job to make that person at that moment feel like the most important client/customer that company has. If I do this, they will continue to give me money. If I ignore the 2 men at the door and keep on with the task at hand. Eventually I may end up with much less paperwork and someone I don't even know or do business with giving me grief about trying to finish my paperwork. In my humble opinion that is a very good illustration of lack customer service and not going the extra mile for "Mr. 85 year old I forgot" customer. I'm sure they are good at insurance stuff. Personally I would rather have someone who is good at taking care of my friend with his insurance needs, and making him feel like he's the most important client they have. He feels like he's washed up and no one cares or listens to him anymore. Never new paperwork was so important. I didn't think so, my clients thought it was all about them. It was. Y'all have a great day, and answer the door.
