It is truly a shame that this newly renovated hotel is ran by such horrible staff. I arrived at the hotel to check in at 10:00 PM. I could find no one to check me in. This was due to the fact that the lady working the front desk, was asleep in the floor behind the counter. Slow night I guess. The hotel is super cute, the room great. However, at around midnight the fire alarm started beeping. This was not a soft beep, but a loud shrill noise that will jolt anyone from their sleep. I called the front desk and of course no answer. This scenario went on ALL night long. No one would ever answer the phone at the front desk. I got absolutely no sleep. When I checked out the following morning, I shared my experience with the new lady at the front desk. Her response, " I was here all night and I never heard the phone ring, thats your fault." I highly recommend staying a block over at the Watermark Hotel where the staff is polite and professional. This place has hired direct from the bottom of the barrel. I would never return and that is a shame, because it is a cute place.

The Hotel has a cafe. Go with the Blackened Redfish Yaya. It is excellent!

We stayed in a bunk room over the weekend and it was a great experience. Renee at check in was super kind as were any other staff we encountered. The young man doing valet (which we did not use) held opened the door and was very friendly. The hotel had a fresh, hip vibe. No boring decor here. Overall, it was well worth it and within walking distance to plenty. The area felt safe. The a/c worked very well which is always a plus in Louisiana. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean. Noise volume from other people or outside noise was minimal. Nit picky cons: The towel holder in the bathroom was falling off the wall but had multiple things hanging from it anyway. A quick call to maintenance from housekeeping could have solved this between guests. The bunk beds were great but SQUEAKY if anyone slept on top and moved. There was water damage by the living area window and the paint looked like it was melting off the wall.

Stayed at the Origin over the weekend. This hotel exceeded my expectations and added to my wonderful weekend experience. 1. Rooms - Cute decor, very clean. They even provided a little hygiene kit with mouthwash, bath salts, cotton balls, and Q tips etc. 2. Service - everyone from the front desk to the restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Forgot deodorant and the sweet man at the front desk searched the hotel far and wide to get me a fresh stick. Forever grateful. 3. Location - this was the primary driver for my stay and I think anyone looking to be in proximity of downtown BR should consider a stay here. Everything I needed was within walking distance.

This place isn't a place you want to go!! The management is horrific also Kaylin the manager or multiple departments has no idea of what to do at all... They have not any idea of what an idea of what it takes to function an operating system at all and they refuses any help for any documentation for wrongfully terminated employees as to which why it's a failing property within itself.and all the the Upper level management has no real grip on a mind set of production... This place should've stayed shut down and the sewage system that provides toxic and hazardous environmental status is completely outrageous for guest and employees alike. This place is not needed especially if they are going to make people sick and employees and all. It's it's a lost cost due to Kaylin and Braylin
