Comfotable rooms, good service, good breakfast. A little pricey on the week-end.

The advertised rates are not what you should expect to pay if you stay in this hotel. There is mandatory valet parking that adds an additional $35 per night. I suppose theoretically you could try to find a parking garage somewhere else in town, but there's no telling how far you might need to walk or how much they might charge. I asked the front desk why they use valet parking when their parking lot is literally right next to the hotel. Why don't they just let customers Park themselves? Their justification seems reasonable enough, saying they didn't have as many parking spaces as they had rooms, and on full nights cars will be blocking in other cars so they need to have everyone's keys to let customers get out. Sure, but in that case the cost of the parking should really be baked into the cost per night, not a huge surprise when you pull up to the hotel. That just feels like a slap in the face, and like they are intentionally trying to hide this huge extra fee. Apparently it is a common practice of hotels in this town, as my relatives who are staying down the street are having a similar experience. It's really unfortunate companies feel they must resort to deceptive practices like this to be competitive.
