The concept behind this place is greatbut you'll have to temper your expectations. We liked the space, we liked the peopleour masseuse was very nice!but from start to finish it felt like our comfort & enjoyment was not the top priority. When we arrived, we were rushed through selecting our treatments and making our orders. When we entered the spa area, no one spared a moment to get us situated, set expectations, make sure that we were comfortable, or anything like that. We were served one over-steeped cup of tea and were never offered addition tea or treats despite being there for over an hour. We made an effort to remain optimistic about the experience, but it was ultimately a little awkward & a little unsatisfying. Quite a shame, because if they were to focus a bit more earnestly on the customer experience, they might really have a great idea on their hands. Next time, however, I think I'll stay home, put on a pot of tea, give my partner a foot rub, and save $200.

After taking time to reflect on our disappointing experience this past weekend, here are my thoughts. Booking: We made the booking over the phone and informed the Soakology staff we had a party of six. Because of our size, they told us there would be an automatic 20% tip added and we put a card on hold. Everything was all set, got an email confirmation, cool. When we arrived we were told that they did not have our booking for 6 people, only one. They could not take us at the time we booked and built our day around. Not sure if there was a system error or communication error from the staff, but we were bummed to say the least. Compensation: From there, we were able to work with them to find alternative times for us to go, which broke our group up and scattered us throughout the afternoon. Not ideal, but we made it work. During this reworking of our experience we were told that we would have all food, tea, and soaks covered by them since it was their bad. We clarified several times because this was a generous offer and they confirmed multiple times. The Soak: I personally did not find the experience relaxing. Soakology did not communicate the expectations of the atmosphere, which meant there were loud groups, people on phone calls, and only curtains to separate you from the other parties around you. I couldn't even read my book during it because people were so boisterous. Charge: After all was said and done and we were heading back from our weekend visit, we received an email with a charge for our food, tea, and 50% of all our soaks. After several discussions at the venue the day before clarifying their offer to cover all the costs due to our scheduling mishap, we were confused. Fortunately my friend is tenacious and was able to resolve the situation, however, my bigger concern is the back and forth, the communication errors that must be happening behind the scenes, and the stress this "relaxing" experience caused us. Overall, I do not recommend. Especially for groups (like bachelorettes or other celebrations) since I saw on another review this is not the first time someone has reviewed about frustraing scheduling mishaps for this business and I'd hate for your special weekend be ruined by an experience like ours. UPDATE to their response: we did not leave without paying. We left a tip for the staff based on our estimate of the total, checked out with the front desk and confirmed the compensation of the soaks and food, and were still charged on the card we had on file until the situation was resolved.

First, I do think they need to work on their online request for appointments. We filled out a request but didnt hear anything back. But once we called, everything fell into place. Once there, everyone was friendly and professional. The experience was awesome and we were trying to figure out how to stay permanently. The setting was very relaxing and they came in twice to rewarm our water. We really enjoyed our soak and plan to go back.
