This is hands down the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. The rooms are dirty, toothpaste stains on bathroom walls, dirty/dusty baseboards, no refrigerator or microwave in room, no wifi, dingy bed linen. I understand that its a historical building but aint no way in hell this place should be this outdated & dirty. TVs are outdated, furniture is damaged & outdated.

I would not recommend to stay here. Reservation was for 2 double beds with a refrigerator and microwave. There was only 1 bed and a cot without the refrigerator or microwave. All the furniture was damaged. The pillows smelled dirty and there was mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. Paint was peeling off the walls and the walls were dirty. AC did not work at all and the room was very hot. I would rate this hotel one step above a dump. On site parking does not exist. You have to walk 2 long blocks and park your car in a pay per hour garage.

Stayed here for 3 nights in April 2024 on a visit to JHU. - Dirty linens: long, dark hair wrapped up in a face towel upon check-in (my hair is not that color or length), mystery brown spots on the bath mat. - One lamp in my room didn't work, even after I switched lightbulbs, so the whole lamp was clearly dead. Didn't bother asking them to change it during my stay. Wanted to report at checkout but nobody was at the front desk. - Door has no security latch/chain. Very not cool since the lobby front door is unsecured except late at night and the stairs/elevator from the lobby do not require a key. - Bed had NO BLANKET when I checked in!! Just 2 sheets. (Same for the rest of my group, staying in other rooms, by the way.) I had to go to the front desk to request a blanket since there was no blanket anywhere in the room. - Paper thin walls. Could hear everything my neighbors said. - Previous person set the alarm for 6am and it went off for me too; staff hadn't reset it. Good thing I was in the room I guess, since otherwise my neighbor would also get to wake up at 6am on a Saturday but not be able to turn it off. Could have been this way for weeks for all I know, since the last person stayed in this room... - Door didn't fit in the frame properly so light comes in around it from all 4 sides, not to mention any conversation anybody has in the hallway. - Visible dust several millimeters thick in the air vents. - "Breakfast" is some yogurt, 3 English muffins near a toaster that is so dirty it spews smoke, and some cereal. No silverware though. You get to eat with your hands. Yes, even for the yogurt, unless you ask. - A grand total of 3 accessible electrical outlets in the whole room, one of which is in the bathroom and one of which is the alarm clock. None of which is near the "desk" (more like a shelf). - Dirty walls, truly disgusting hallway carpet, no storage. - No safe for valuables/electronics/passports. - Wifi connects for 5 minutes at a time then cuts out. - Pillows that are somehow both lumpy and paper-thin at the same time. You get the picture. I have stayed in worse places in my life, but I can count them on 1 hand and they were typically "between 2 freeways near the airport because I need to crash for 4 hours before a 6am flight" kind of situations. Positives: Staff is warm, friendly, attentive, doing their best with what appears to be nonexistent resources. The bed was also surprisingly comfortable. Gobsmacked this place has 3 stars. Deserves negative stars, except for the staff who were great. But save your money and stay elsewhere.
