Atheneum Suite Hotel

The atmosphere was appropriate for the type of venue I attended. The bar was well stocked, and the staff was very friendly.

After having my room cleaned my jacket was left in the middle of floor and under it was my $120 Beat headphones BROKEN. It looked as if someone had stepped on it. I left an $130 personal item in my bed and the bed was made and the toy was MISSING . Not on is that strange its DISGUSTING. When trying to learn the process of how to report the matter, the manager Leo was rude and told me he doesnt know what to tell me His tone was dismissive and when I pointed out his body language he said well im not tryna make you a victim. How does the manager not know security protocol. The lobby is nice and the restaurant staff is kind but that was 100% over shadowed by the bad customer service and over $200 of damaged/missing personal items. The on site security, Marcus was as helpful as he could be but I will not recommend this place to a friend.

My wife and I are frequent travelers. We spent a long time living in the Detroit area before moving to New Jersey, but family and work still brings us back to Michigan multiple times a year. Today, when we visit Michigan we stay at the Atheneum. We have been to a lot of hotels both in the state and across the globe and this is one of the best you will find IMO. The location is great, right in the middle of Greektown and close enough to the business district it is IMO the best location in the city. The staff is friendly and the service is top notch. The best part of this hotel is the size and layout of the rooms. We travel a lot and its hard to find rooms this large at any hotel unless you are paying for the penthouse suite. Here it seems the most basic rooms are over 500+ sqft, many with a door that closes which is huge when you are traveling with young children. This is a great hotel to stay at with family if you are visiting the Detroit area.

Stopped in the lobby and had excellent service @ the bar. An afternoon cup of tea that was very delightful. Will visit again!!
