It has always been our suggestion that 3 yr olds take a 2.5-3.5 class with parent class before enrolling in a without parent class. If a parent disagrees, we suggest trying a 3 yr old class with the understanding that if the child is struggling, they will switch to a with parent class. Our student/teacher ratios are age appropriate, and we do allow a little leeway with our 3 yr olds. In order to be fair, we need to be consistent with our policies. We have served thousands of students from those with ADHD, autism-some non-verbal and some with physical disabilities such as prosthetics and partial blindness. We are very inclusive but do not nor ever have had an extra staff member to work one-on-one with an individual student in a without parent class. Our staff is excellent with redirecting students, modifying when needed to help them succeed and have fun in class. However, if much of their attention is focused on one child the other students are not receiving fair attention. Our preschool classes are energetic, fun and stimulating. Many times, younger students need a parent's guidance to help them become acclimated and comfortable before entering class alone. We have been doing this for many years though all may not agree with our policies, we do enforce them to assure that we are giving every student a safe and positive experience at Kids Gym.
