Beth was an absolute delight to work with. We came for an anniversary weekend and found all the comforts we needed. Breakfast each morning was delicious and fresh. The room was very quiet and self check in was very easy. We will stay again because we felt like old friends right at home. Also John is the sweetest and has great suggestions!

The Merryweather Inn has become for the last 4 years our place to stay in Duluth. As we inch closer to making Duluth our retirement home, Beth and her dad, John, have welcomed us with the highest of hospitality.
Can't say we've stayed in all the rooms but we have never been disappointed. Stay for the breakfast, you will not be disappointed.
Definitely our lodging place in Duluth.

We attended a wedding here and it was beautiful! The Merryweather Inn was a unique and intimate venue. The host Beth is an AMAZING cook. She was able to anticipate and accommodate our needs including food allergies. I can't wait to go back for some of the fun community events like a murder mystery party and Christmas tea!

We had our wedding here and also booked a room - Carriage House - for the weekend.
The Inn is very charming so we didn't have to worry about hardly any decorations, Beth (owner) did an awesome job decorating the dining room and tables. We had our ceremony outdoors by the fountain, the reception in the dining room and the party in the basement. The basement was quite hot with the lighting and everyone dancing, but Beth brought in fans, towels and everything she could to mitigate the heat. The party never slowed down or stopped.
Beth was a big part of making our day special and worry free, she is very accommodating and straight forward with any requests. She also went out of her way to accommodate our family dietary restrictions, preparing a delicious and safe dinner all Gluten Free and even added a vegan option. Our bar was great, bartender was fun, wines were delicious and everyone had a great time.
The only two downfalls of the Inn as a wedding venue are, there is only one bathroom downstairs in the basement for the entire party, and the parking situation is street parking only, however it was not hard to find parking in the surrounding blocks.
We would highly recommend Merryweather Inn for any stay or event. Beth is an amazing host.

Stayed there last month and was very disappointed. It was a last minute booking on a holiday weekend. There were no hotel rooms within 100 miles of Duluth, but this place had several open rooms. I should have known. Every time we took a shower, we had to wait 20 minutes for hot water. The response from the owner "it's an old house". There was one small window AC unit in the living area to cool the living area, bedroom and bath. We were there two days/nights and the bedroom never cooled off. We literally had three fans blowing into the bedroom and couldn't get it comfortable. There were several pages of instructions on what not to do on the table in our room. For $300 a night, one would think we should be able to bring in our own bottle of wine without being charged $30 and have hot water and AC. Ridiculous!
Food & drinks: Food was nothing special. Our "3 course meal" consisted of a small bowl of blueberries and a Danish about the size of half a hotdog as two of them.
