Americas Best Value Inn Duluth Spirit Mountain Inn

I've stayed here before so I thought it would be a great place for my family getaway. I was wrong. So to start off the place is currently "under renovation" so they are only booking certain rooms on certain floors and in my room there is blue paint on the wood from the previous "renovation". The jacuzzi is not working since end of 2023 or start of 2024. (Pipes burst) The sauna is not functional as it is in the same room as jacuzzi. The game room is also not open. (Assuming it's related to the above issues.) The pool is freezing (claims it's heated) but is barely lukewarm temperature. No apologies or mention of the closure of the affected areas on the website or travel sites. As the Hot Tub, Sauna, & Pool were the main reasons for booking here. They claim to have a deluxe continental breakfast but there are cereal, oatmeal, and bread choices only. No meats or veggies. I am very disappointed in the quality of the hotel. Strong cigarette smoke smell lingering in the hallways. Also just so you know they do not allow pets. If you want creature comforts seek lodging elsewhere. Would not recommend this place and won't be staying here again. Only positive things I can say are the majority of staff are professional and very kind and great view of Spirit Mountain Resort. 1/5: Ammenities 3/5: Staff 2/5: Comfort 2/5: Cleanliness 3/5: Resort Views Overall honest review: Avoid and book elsewhere. Overall Score: 2.3/5 Rooms: Beds are extremely uncomfortable. Rooms are poorly painted and in my room the floor has a dip in it. Nearby activities: Ski resort near by, which is temporarily closed. Downtown Duluth shopping/sightseeing. Walkability: Not many places to walk to. Noteworthy details: Cheap and there is a reason.

This was.. not the best experience at all. They are updating it to a different motel, so most of it was closed, gym, arcade/gane area, hot tub, etc. The pool was open but was pretty cold. They said they were low staffed, so we would have to keep going to the desk if we needed anything. The hallways smelled stale. Cigarette butts surrounded the building. I paid extra for a balcony and got a slab of concrete out our door that had butts surrounding it too..the door that didn't lock! The carpet was peeling up. The beds were small. I have never seen a queen bed that small before. Very disappointing.

The staff is pleasant, and a very nice breakfast in the morning. The roads are really big with the log cabin. Look very nice hotel. Again the staff is very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only issue it is a bit far from downtown Duluth but if you are at Mountain and need a place where are you skiing Its pretty close. Rooms: The rooms are very nice with a log cabin, look and spacious Nearby activities: Nearby activities would be skiing Food & drinks: There is a subway next to the hotel, and there is food at Spirit Mountain ski lodge.
