My Makita MAC5200 compressor was laboring and blowing the circuit breaker, so I took it to Merlin Stelzer for repair on December 18, 2023. When I dropped it off, I told them what it had been doing. I hadn't heard anything by January 29, 2024, so I called to check on it. They told me that it hadn't been looked at yet (over a month down the road), but they would evaluate it and call me back later the same day. I also corrected my phone number in their records. Nothing happened. I called again on February 22, 2024, and was told that the unit was ready, but they couldn't get hold of me because my phone number was wrong. (I had corrected it on January 29.) Dude told me that the technician had reset the overload cutoff switch, and it started right up. He couldn't find any problems. I was skeptical, because (like I said above) the compressor had been laboring and blowing the circuit breaker. That's usually a symptom of more serious problems. Sure enough, I got all set up this morning to do some sandblasting, and the compressor is not fixed. It's doing the same things it was doing before I took it to Merlin Stelzer. So, it cost me $55 for them to do nothing, and I've been without my compressor for over two months. Guess where I'm not taking it to be fixed. Stay away from Merlin Stelzer.
