My husband worked for hands of heartland for just a few months.  In the beginning, it was expressed he needed full-time hours as he had a wife and a child to support.  Samantha (Omaha) was great in accommodating him. Within the first few weeks, his placement was not a great fit, so they moved him to another group home facility, which ended up being a great fit.Two weeks later, after he had already bonded with his new client in Lincoln, his new supervisor said she was approached by her superior and was told to ask my husband if he'd be willing to travel to Grand Island to work 3 or so days in GI and the rest of his hours in Lincoln as there was a staffing crisis in GI.  He was reluctant at first as he JUST created a relationship with the individual he was assisting as his new assignment.  However, He was told he'd get a daily food stipend, could be reimbursed for gas and he'd be put up in a hotel. He agreed as he wanted to step up, get hours, and prove himself - even his supervisor told him it'd be a great reflection of his work ethic, willingness to assist and he could climb the ranks by volunteering to drive the 1.5 hours to GI to help. The DAY he was supposed to drive out to Grand Island, HE had to reach out to his supervisor there - she was not proactive in providing address or the time he needed to be in town. He also found out that the leadership in Grand Island knew nothing about the daily stipend.  His shift was then moved from Tues-Fri from 11a-11p. They did not book his hotel for the Friday night and expected him to drive the 1.5 hours back to Lincoln after his 12-hour shift. It was soon after they asked him to work M-F from 11a-11p; meaning he would be working out of town for a whole week.  He said he needed to discuss it with myself (his wife) and get back to them. Without talking to my husband prior, they put him on the schedule and texted him Monday morning asking if he'd be in to work. He advised it was not something he agreed to and would be showing up for his normal shift on Tuesday at 11am.  Today, he received a text, the day before his weekly shift was supposed to start, telling him they only needed him in Grand Island 2 days - the equivalent of 24 hours..NOT full time.  When he asked about getting Full Time hours this week, the supervisor in Grand Island told him to refer to his prior supervisor in Lincoln. He reached out to his prior supervisor in Lincoln and expressed he was pissed off this was not the first time they had cut his hours and were reluctant to supplement his hours in Lincoln.  He was upset, so he used words like "pissed" and said that it was "bullshit" he had been repeatedly told he'd be getting 40 hours but it wasn't the case. Said supervisor called him within 1/2 hour of him expressing his concern and when he didn't answer, she texted him saying "I need you to answer". So, he did when she called again, and she fired him on the spot.  This is a newly-opened company in Lincoln.  I would be weary to apply or put in the effort of working for this company which exhibits sub-par communication and organization skills.  It seems almost everyone at the company is new, and from just the outside looking in, it appears that no one in leadership actually talks to each other nor cares about their employees.  Cutting someone last minute from 48 to 24 hours in less than 24 hours is outrageous - I'd be pissed off too as that's messing with our livlihood. From reading other reviews posted online, it seems their turn-over rate is outrageous...and rightfully so.  People don't leave their jobs, they leave their bosses.  I highly suggest HoH do some field work, shadow and review their supervisors, and make the necessary changes that need to be made.  This business is not BBB accredited that I have found. Still looking into legal recourse we can take as neither myself nor my husband feel his termination was deserved.
