Rymes Propane & Oil

The average price of heating oil is between 4.08 and 4.20 a gallon. So why is rymes charging 4.74 a gallon? The response I received was the price depends on usage and region. I used more oil this month than last. Now their charging 4.94 a gallon. And #2 oil is 4.12 a gallon in the town I live in. This is not the rymes I've been using for years. Its corporate greed .

Terrible customer service. We were told our oil would be delivered on Thursday and nobody showed up (no big deal). Then Friday (snowed the night before) I get a call saying they tried to deliver oil but our gate was frozen shut. I was home all day and nobody pulled into my driveway and there were no footprints in the snow leading up to the gate (proving they didnt even attempt to go to my house). Plus the gate was not frozen and could easily open and close. We called and explained there is no way the driver even attempted to deliver oil and we are concerned because we are really low (not empty). They ended up sending another driver out to us to get the oil delivered. The driver was very nice when we explained the situation and he stated must of been the new guy referring to the driver that never showed up to our house in the first place. Now Superior is charging me an additional $100 for this emergency trip. **update** Dustin the manager over in Concord called us back today and was very professional and resolved our previous issue. Thank you!

*Edit to previous review* I have to unfortunately change the review for this company from 5 stars to 1 star for the customer service I have received over the past year. A while back, Rymes was bought out by a company called Superior Plus Propane. At first there was no difference and I continued to have a great relationship with Rymes. However, eventually I started to notice that this company was becoming less and less competitive with the pricing in my area. This of course led me to find an alternative supplier for oil but I kept the propane as they were able to stay mostly in a good price point. That too came to an end where I had to call and ask to see if they could help lower my bill in anyway. After 6 months of back and forth they agreed to lower my rate from $4.19 a gallon to $3.79 a gallon. This was enough in my mind to make it worth all the painful calls to this company and the defeated sound in the Call Center representatives voices everytime I had to get my bill fixed. After literally the 7th call to this company (not exaggerating) over the course of a couple months, I spoke with a representative today (1/11/24) who basically told me to pound sand. Found out they do not offer the 10 day prompt pay discount when they moved my price. Actual savings was under $10 for my $300 delivery. Lady who answered the phone was the final nail in the coffin. I refuse to deal with pompous @sses like her and will not be dealing with this company anymore. Shame on Superior Plus Propane for ruining a local legendary company! RIP RYMES PROPANE AND OIL Ran out of fuel and the temperature is below 0... spoke with a representative who was plesant and fixed my issue almost immediately. Set me up for a delivery and got it the night before it was even promised! Nothing but great things to say about this company and its employees. I have been with Rymes for 10 years for the simple fact that they are usually the cheapest. Over the course of time, I have realized how important customer service is as well. I have always been treated fair and with respect by everyone in this organization which keeps me as a long term customer. Keep up the great work!

01-25-24; Average NH Gov. Propane prices at $3.99/gal .... Rymes price gouges at $5.99/gal. Please do not support this company.
