Over the last two years of living here the experience progressively got worse. Lack of management from the leasing office lead to snow removal never being properly completed any time there was a snow storm. The parking situation is horrid. You pay for a reserved spot or a garage spot for ppl to park in them, the management team does nothing. The amount that we paid monthly kept changing due to the new system they once over charged us rent of $5k a month and never apologized. The move out process lasted 3 months. We were physically out in our proper time. We moved in august and finally received our refund check (wrong amount) in October. With in the two year there have been 3 different management companies running this place. I would never recommend this place. Youll over pay for an average place of living.

Physical security is abysmal. Security doors do not fully close or are propped open, leaving them unlocked very frequently. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing and saying. The police hang around in the parking lots frequently, so there must be a lot of crime. There is dog feces all over the lawns and property border constantly. The dumpsters are constantly overflowing, sometimes into the street. Waste management is not seen as a priority here. The water main to the apartments has broken in the past, causing days without water. The office is extremely difficult to get a hold of. The phone is often not answered during business hours and sometimes the office is unattended during business hours. Very often, calls will not be returned when leaving a voice mail.

Do not be fooled by the pictures on their website. Front office and maintenance staff are nice but that's about it. The complex is not smoke free, you can smell it into the apartments if your neighbor is smoking outside. The walls, floor and ceiling are thin. Be ready to hear all of your neighbors footsteps and arguments. The amenities are worn out and not taken care of, not to mention a lot smaller than the pictures they have posted let you believe. The dumpsters are constantly overflowing with trash, people do not pick up after their dogs and the package center is more of a treasure hunt filled with amazon packages and rotting meal kits. Also it might just be a coincidence but after moving to a LARGER apartment with the same utility companies our bill is actually almost half of what it used to be at Bay Ridge. Update: Never heard from the complex. I was also charged two cleaning fees. One we were able to get removed but since we did not have an invoice from the cleaning company we still had to pay the other.

My now wife and I lived at bay ridge for about 3 years. It was very nice at first, with minimal issues. Maintenance was always super accomadating and friendly. We were going to stay for awhile until we had terrible upstairs neighbors move in. From the moment they moved in until the day we moved out they caused nothing but issues and the staff did nothing to support loyal tenants who never caused any problems. Within a month they caused a terrible leak that leaked into our apt. 100 percent there fault according to bay ridge. This issue was so bad and happened around 7 pm it was a site wide issue so maintenance understandable didn't get to our apartment until almost 10 pm. But between those hours we wernt updated or anything. There was water coming from electrical outlwts and the fire alarm was glinf off and no one shut it off for 3 straihht hours. Our dog was sick because of this. It was a weekday also so we went to a hotel for the night. I asked to be reiumbursed and bayridge said they can not do that. So i went through renters ins but bay ridge is insisting it was the upstairs fault so to this day i may not get reimbursed befause bayridge refuses to pay the bill and the upstairs tenant arnt going to pay for reasons i know but wont post. This issue happend in january 22 and still ongoing as of july 22.Glad to know they care for all the times we paid rent on time eveeytime it was due.Maintenance was good and fixed the issue and repaired our apartment but bay ridge didn't seem to care about our issue. The neighbors were extremely loud every night again we lived here for 3 years and understand apartment noise the stuff that went on made us fear for our safety. They would let there dog use the bathroom on the porch which would drip down to our table where we eat! They would smoke and could smell it in our apartment. They would argue and fight all night literally. There was an issue one night that got physical where police came. I made my fears known for months and was basically mocked that unless I personally made a complaint they couldn't do anything. I was basically begging that we were fearful if they found out it was us who complained they would retaliate which was 100% true after the information that is known npw. I won't name the employee but he yelled at me and mocked me for this. Also when we made it known we weren't renewing out lease we were giving a date to move out where we wouldn't have to pay the remainder of the lease which was about 2 months left. Which is the least they could do most of the staff was very remorseful for us but 1 individual did not care at all. They canceled our move in Date 5 days before so all the hard work we did and movers we paid for was for nothing. So unprofessional. I would advise everyone to not live here. I am still in shock how everything was handled towards the end.. bay ridge knows this complaint was coming.

ZERO STARS When first looking at Bay Ridge my family was asked to do a self guided tour since Karen in the leasing office was too busy, even though we had called for an appointment ahead of time. This should have been a red flag to leave but we liked the apartment and the grounds were nice, so my partner and I put in an application that same day. We waited and waited for a response. After numerous weeks and numerous voicemails left with Karen asking why our application wasnt fully processed we decided to look elsewhere and make alternate arrangements since it didnt seem like Bay Ridge was capable of processing a simple rental application and didnt really want us as tenants. We were finally formally approved just shy of a month after putting our application in. When calling to let Karen know that we would not be renting she let us know that she would not refund of $500 deposit since we had not let her know within 72hrs of our official approval. So what they were saying was that we had to wait weeks with them holding our money but now they are going to keep our money with only 3 days to get in contact. Even though when you call the leasing office NO ONE ever answers the phone. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR APPLICATION FEES OR $500 DEPOSIT BECAUSE IT IS A SCAM.
