I've been here many, many times as it's close to my home. The food is what you'd expect from an upscale Italian restaurant; it is quite good and the salads are amazing. The service? Lackluster at best and I'm being real here. I haven't experienced any servers who are particularly friendly or outgoing - at all. As well, they need to get back to basics of hospitality (ie take the order of the women at the table first before the men, don't reach across guests to clear their plates but from the right, replenish silverware when it needs it, refresh waters without having to crane your neck and watch until you get their attention). For the price of their entrees and a la carte items, I would expect a higher level of service and attentiveness. The layout of the rooms have a minimalist, basic diner motif with no standout feel for the experience of paying more for Italian food. No plants, pictures, decorations, or mural (they have a large wall in the right side room with metal letters hanging). If you're into intimate, warm ambience, you won't find it here. As long as you lower your service expectations, you'll enjoy the dinner just fine.

Food very good , increasing prices since last summer , and service was slow , seemed like not enough staff. Live close by , not sure I would return.

I gave 3 stars because the food isn't authentic and I didn't appreciate the lack of ambiance. It looks very old in there and in need of a remodel. The only thing I liked was the calamari, it was thick cut, but it was fried well and tender. The bolognese tasted like it was made with jar sauce, no ricotta and tasted very American like. My husband also didn't like his veal chop. It was real fatty and lacked flavor. There was also a large group there and the kids were up playing outside of their seats. They took away from the romantic evening we were trying to have. And the lighting was too bright from a small "cozy" Italian place. If the lighting was dimmer it would've help camouflage all the bad decor. Best part was the byob.

Excellent food and service! A hidden gem in north jersey! Home feeling with attentive wait staff that will accommodate all requests. I would easily book this restaurant for another birthday gathering or just a night out for dinner.

Ordered take out. Was excellent. Fresh. Delicious. Friendly service. I'll be back.
