Nersel has been an excellent instructor. I took 5 portrait painting classes with her and she was able to help me achieve a great painting, and grow my skills as an artist through new techniques. She was also flexible to my learning style, and to the style of painting that I was hoping to achieve. Most of all, she's a fun person to learn with. Highly recommend - definitely better than attending large group classes with little hands on instruction.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?? Nersel is a magician. She has transformed my life by teaching me how to paint with oils (which is a dream of mine I've always had). She's the most amazing teacher, not only with technique but also in how she gives you the confidence you need to experiment and play on your own. Oil painting is also extremely therapeutic. It doesn't matter if you've never done it, she'll show you how to do everything. Just go and do it.

Ive been taking art classes with Nersel for the past few months and Im thrilled with the progress Ive made. Nersel is very kind, patient, and fun to be around, which made it easy for me to get started. As I progress, Nersel is helping me develop my style and teaching me more advanced techniques. Shes genuinely interested in my growth and even gave me one of her art books so that I could learn from it at home. The art studio is also great, with good lighting and high-quality art supplies. During my mother's visit, I convinced her to take a class with Nersel, and she enjoyed it so much that she is now considering taking up painting again after many years.

I was intimidated by the idea of oil painting, so I searched for an expert to guide me through the process. I wanted to work with someone who is both professional and someone who could push my creative boundaries. Nersel is just that - an incredibly talented fine are painter and instructor. She is fun, fair, honest, and she has a masterful eye. She is keenly aware of how to adapt her teaching methods to each individual to meet them exactly where they are in that moment. Based on your age or personality, how you progress, your level of artistic ability, or even the type of day you are having, Nersel is able to make sure you are getting the most out of every session. I travel from East Harlem to her studio in Brooklyn weekly, and it is worth the trek. I highly recommend Nersel Fine Art to anyone who wants to paint!
