voco Fiorello - LaGuardia East, an IHG Hotel

There's not much to do around here, but the hotel was wonderful. The staff was awesome. Friendly and personable. Cookies were delicious. Gorgeous, clean, updated rooms.

I love IHG overseas, but this hotel misses the mark at every turn. Firstly, it is not near LaGuardia Airport. It is almost four miles away, which for anyone familiar with NYC is quite a distance. It is not even really in Flushing. It is on the very edge. So forget about easily accessing all the great cuisine there. The pricing is dishonest and vastly more than on third-party websites. Not sure why they punish IHG members for going direct. I wont do that again. The hall smelled smokey and thought the room was nice, it had no screen to block the city lights. It also had an incredibly loud fan that blasted and woke me throughout the night. Dont stay here. Stay at the Marriot or some other nicer hotel. It will save you money in the end, and you will get a better rest. Very disappointed with IHG on this one.

We just got back home from visiting family in Queens, and decided to stay at a hotel this time so that we didn't interrupt anyone's schedule of getting ready for work/school. This hotel is actually really cute and quiet. We were right on the 2nd floor which is where the lobby is located. They conveniently have a water refill station by the bar. They also have snacks and drinks for purchase, although there is a deli across the street as well. They have daily cleaning service, which was nice. Our room was really cute, with a mini fridge and flat screen TV but honestly a bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids. The beds were full size. I found the beds and pillows really comfortable but I wish the room were a little bigger. The bathroom was a nice size and had a lot of counter space. The room itself also had a really big counter, some dresser drawers and a decent size closet. One last thing I want to mention is that the hotel is attached to another building that has a couple of restaurants. There is also a karaoke place on the first floor. When we first entered the elevator we got confused about where to go and I noticed it happened to others as well. H2 was the lobby and the doors open opposite of how you get in. Overall, I would stay here again..but I would maybe try to get 2 connecting rooms so that we all have a little bit more space to move around. Rooms: Our room was small, but modern and clean. Nearby activities: Skyview mall is close, grocery shopping at Stop and Shop and Target is also close. Safety: Very safe and quiet area
