I found Charles and the personnel very comforting and accommodating during a very difficult time we all eventually experience in our lives. Everything went smoothly and as planned. Funeral home employees were very helpful with direction and questions during the entire Mass of Christian Burial. Many thanks to the Lakeside Funeral Home.

If I could leave zero stars I would have. I contacted LakeSide Funeral Home as I had some questions regarding my mothers demise and arrangements. My call was forwarded to Charles. I expressed my concern with bringing my mothers body back from Florida for burial in Buffalo. Charles gave me his email address and asked that I send him my information. He also, mentioned contacting my sister. I advised him that it would not be in my best interest at this time to do so. I asked that our conversation be kept confidential. Shortly after I received a text from my sister asking that I dont call the funeral home for final arrangements. How unprofessional and insensitive of Charles. We were already dealing with a great loss on top of the funeral director adding to that grief. The day of the funeral we were told it would be taking place at Lakeside Cemetery Chapel. My family and I were waiting in our vehicles for others to arrive. To my surprise Charles drives past us with my sister in his vehicle with my moms hurst following behind. Charles didnt stop and say follow us or ask if I would also, like to ride with him and escort my mother to her final place of rest. When we arrived at the graveside there were chairs in front of my mothers casket. My daughter & I took our seats. Not once did Charles or his staff acknowledge my family by saying hello or expressing sympathy for our loss. I wrote a letter to the attention of Charles on December 26, 2023. To date I have not received a response.

There is no other funeral home for our family as we have used the services of Lakeside Funeral Home for decades. The care that Charles and previously his father provide are top notch. Sometimes, when you read reviews, there is a lot of missing information that is meant to mislead your judgement in a malicious attempt to redirect their self inflicted guilt which has turned to anger. Just remember that the funeral director is not a social worker, he is merely following the code of honor and wishes designated by the deceased and their designated person. What a terrible position to be put in, but it comes with this line of work. Our family appreciates every detail that was completed by Lakeside Funeral Home with every passing including mine. There is no doubt that I love both of my daughters. I did leave very specific instructions for Debbie ( my designated caretaker), that quite honestly didn't include Lisa Ryan-Pitillo. However, Debbie found it would be helpful in the healing process for Lisa to be invited to my burial service. Charles was apprehensive due to the threatening conversations that he engaged in with Lisa, but was assured that his services were needed and he graciously complied. The team at Lakeside Funeral Home never disappoint even in the most distressed circumstances.
