Rite Aid - Closed

Went to receive my second shot of Moderna today. As advertised and also communicated by their own employees, you do not need to make an appointment for the vaccine. An appointment is automatically scheduled after your first shot though, and I decided to pop in earlier than my appointment time since I got out of work earlier than expected. Again, since I was told and also saw online that I did not need an appointment for the vaccine, I did not believe it would be a problem to come in earlier. I arrived about an hour earlier and was told the employee administering the shots might be annoyed I came in early. I was shocked when I heard this. This employee spoke to the possibly “annoyed” employee only to return to tell me I would have to wait at least 30 mins. Awful service. 30 minute wait for a process that takes seconds. Seriously? Especially for a vaccine that seems like it is of the upmost importance to get, you want to make it uncomfortable and even frustrating to receive it at your location. Anyway, I went to Duane Reade a couple blocks away and they gave me the shot after waiting 2 minutes. I was in and out of there in 5 mins with no appointment needed. I understand when people are busy but then do not communicate NO appointment needed when in fact, you cannot meet those demands. And also don’t make someone feel bad for simply doing as advertised. Will be walking the extra distance in the future to Duane Reade to avoid ever having to deal with those individuals again.
