Went to Mark on whim because I happened to be in nyc. He fit me in the same day I called, and I couldnt be happier with the results. Id been growing out a perm for 10 months, most of my hair had become dry and looked dead, and I knew my split ends were a nightmare. I had had a lot of breakage, and it looked dull so much of the time. I didnt enjoy my hair anymore because it felt unhealthy, and thats what I told Mark. He was very up front- even though I like long hair, the bottom two inches were dead and theyd have to go. He also suggested a pH balancing treatment because of the perm, and a deep condition. Id decided I was just gonna trust whatever he said. Best decision, because he was right about everything. Now my hair is extremely soft, even the pieces that Id home-bleached a year and a half ago. I like touching my hair again! And he gave me a perfect cut- lots of layers and a face frame. He spent 3 hours making sure I was happy with it. He asked for lots of feedback and made adjustments if I had any comments as we went along. Mark is great if you enjoy a fun conversation, or if you just want to sit on your phone. Hes very flexible, enjoys answering questions about hair, and very talented. He also shares good hair advice if you ask!

First, I think Mark is talented! My haircut really is well done and looks nice. Unfortunately, it wasnt what I was expecting. I had gone in for a trim but ended up with about 4-5 inches cut. It was a little shocking initially. The photos show my hair the day before it was cut then after. Overall, I still think Mark is great. I wish I had been more firm and clear in communicating what I wanted.
