Hotel room was a decent size for NYC but it was pretty dated and dirty. There appears to be mold on the bathroom season. Originally wasnt going to post a review to complain but then we found out in our last day (today) theyll be closing for renovations so wed have to be out by noon which is fine but the bigger problem we wouldnt be able to store our bags there till we left like wed planned to do. They really should have told us this was going to happen when we made the reservation. We would have planned differently. Now were going to have to pay to store our bags somewhere else for the day since the front desk was not helpful about finding solutions like just storing at another Hampton. They werent rude they just werent helpful. Bottom line the lack of communication is really unacceptable

It is close to a lot of places, but that is all I can say for it. The bed was completely broken and falling off one side. Others have mentioned the smell, and I can confirm that. My room smelled like wet dogs. I went down to see if they could clean the room. Their idea of cleaning was to throw some towels on the unmade bed. There was no ice on any floor around ours either. The tv never worked and the AC sounded like a jet taking off all night. And the "hot breakfast" was a joke. Here, have some rubber eggs called "omelets" and some stale bread to toast. Gross. We ended up dropping $60 for breakfast at the diner across the street instead. It was so bad that we left a day into our trip. The manager said they would refund, but Expedia says they called the hotel and no one approved that. I even have an email from the hotel saying they were refunding the trip, but who knows if we will see that. This place is gross.

The room was acceptable and the staff was nice. I found breakfast to be good and I did like that there was tea and coffee in the lobby for most of my stay. I did find my stay difficult because it sounded like construction was taking place right outside the room due to the noise coming from the elevators. It was so loud, I stayed tired. I couldnt sleep because people are constantly coming up and down the elevator which meant the loud construction type noise never stopped. Also, the vibrations it was cracking the ceiling. Edit: Hotel replied for me to contact them further under my original review which is stated above this edit. I contacted them immediately and it was completely ignored. Now today, I see that an entire parking garage has collapsed in Manhattan. As stated above, the rumbling construction type noise coming from the elevators and the extreme cracking on the ceiling is concerning. You can see that many of the cracks that span almost the entire ceiling have just been painted over. The one above the bed was opened up as you can see in the picture. This is an old building. Im not an engineer so I dont really know what is causing the extreme cracks in the ceiling but doesnt seem right to me.
