Hi Connor, we're sorry you felt the need to leave multiple 1-star reviews using separate Google accounts about this issue. What's very strange about this is that we were very transparent about the entire process and know that we are the ones who were misled.We agreed to pick up your safe based on the condition from the original photo you sent us of a fully intact safe and put you on the schedule. Less than 48 hours before your appointment, you decided to let us know that the "door was removed" from the safe, catching us by surprise. You told us you had an updated photo and would send it to us, but despite us following up multiple times with you, we never received it. We asked why or how the safe door was removed, but you told us that you didn't know.We amended the contract with very specific language that if there was damage to the safe deemed beyond repair, we will not remove it and would need to assess a charge for the 2-hour time slot we allotted for 4 of our men to come to your premises. You not only received the amended contract, but approved it.When we arrived at the job site on the date of removal and inspected the safe, it was clear the door was not just "removed", but the hinges of the safe were literally torched and cut off the body as if someone was trying to cut the safe apart for disposal. The hinges on both the safe body and the door suffered irreparable damage as well as torch marks across the face of the door, which we have photographic documentation of. This condition rendered the safe ineligible for removal as per the terms of our contract. Had we known this important piece of information or seen the photo you told us you would send ahead of time (but never did), we would have walked away and not put you on the schedule.We asked many times over the phone and via email if the safe was damaged, and you repeatedly failed to answer us honestly. We were forthright and open about the terms of our agreement when you frankly misrepresented the severe damage to the unit. Once again, we're sorry that you feel so badly about this situation. Empire Safe will continue putting our best foot forward as we've done since 1904. We hope you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving!
