I am sharing my opinion in the hope that it will save someone else a very unpleasant experience. I made one of the worst decisions of my life, by using the Finney Law Firm. It was a very bad experience, and one that I would not wish for others. I knew someone from the firm, and called him to discuss what my situation was. He highly recommended a member of his firm, and I met with her to discuss my case. I agreed for her to represent me. She charged $280 per hour. We communicated several times over the next month, and decided on a course of action. After the Holidays, I called, texted, and emailed her several times without a response. I called the firm to find out what was going on. The next day, I received an email from another attorney in the firm that I did not know, nor had ever met. He informed me that he was taking over my case (at $325 per hour). There was no communication from the first attorney that she would no longer be handling my case. This is when my experience and trust took a nose dive with them. The new attorney never wanted to meet in person. He only wanted to email continuously back and forth. He also filed my case incorrectly with the Court, and had to file my case a second time. It seemed to me that he was only concerned with billable hours, and not in winning my case. I really do not believe that he thought that he could win. I also had important evidence in my cell phone that took me six months to get to him, because he did not want to meet in person. In that time period, he raised his rates again to $375.00. Long story short, I could not work with him any longer, and told the firm so. Next, I was contacted by a third attorney. Come to find out, she had taken a ten year absence from practicing law, and was an outside contractor. In talking with the owner of the firm, he assured me that they would not charge me for the hours that it took her to catch up. I never saw a credit for any hours that she billed for. She would repeatedly call me to discuss the same questions over and over that we had discussed previously. She even called me from the airport on vacation to ask something trivial. Her billable hours were even larger than the attorney before, and I called her to discuss my bill. When I told her why I was calling, she got mad and hung up on me. I tried to call her back, but she did not answer. I contacted the person that I knew at Finney Law to find out what was going on. He turned out to be a wolf in sheeps clothing, and told me that I should be willing to accept their unverified billable hours, or go somewhere else. After spending tens of thousands of dollars with them, I told him that that was not going to happen. I told him to do whatever it took to settle my Case (at his rate of $395.00/hour). The Case was settled (at a fraction of its value)! I am sure that I saved many more tens of thousands of dollars that I would have spent with them. The final blow from them was, losing my original documents for evidence, including a check from the Defendant that I had not cashed yet. Of course they said that they had given everything back to me, even though they could not tell me when or how. That is not the truth. I keep impeccable records, and did not get the items that they scanned, returned ever! In my opinion, and experience with Finney Law Firm, if you are just a common person like me, look out! The entire experience was not handled in the professional manner that you would expect from an established law firm. I have been in Medical sales for over 40 years, and have used several other Law firms in Cincinnati to help with my 1099 contracts. All of my previous interactions with these Law firms were excellent. I should have used one of them instead of Finney Law! Again, A BIG MISTAKE!! I am sure that Finney will respond with incorrect statements, but I have all of the documentation to support my review.

Curt Hartman is a horrible lawyer who doesnt care about the law. He only cares about the money being put into his pockets by the pro life nut cases he represents.
