    After ten years with Allstate, I decided to look at rates with other companies since my premiums that have increased in recent years, rather than decrease. Given how little I’ve been driving in the last year and given that I’m free of accidents and moving violations, my current rates seemed excessive. They’ve basically just been collecting my premiums for the last 8 or 9 years without me bothering them much. I was offered a much lower premium with nationwide so I decided to switch. After I notified my agent of my intent to cancel, he never even acknowledged my email regarding why/when I was canceling. Then I received an email saying I owed them more money and that it was past due! Since I had made all payments as expected, the bill was unexpected and the past due status was insulting. So I contacted Norm to get information as to why I was being billed. I never received a response. As a long time customer and someone who continues to be a customer through April 1st, I feel he could have a least done me the courtesy of replying to my email to acknowledge that my policy had been cancelled and explained the possibility of some additional bill. I had some serious issues with Allstate when I originally switched, but my previous Allstate agent worked it out and I decided to stick it out. So I’m regretting giving Allstate and Norm Risoya my business all these years. Not good customer set is and not a good value.
