Dear Raina: Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have instructed the legal assistants to promptly let prospective clients know if we are currently unable to fit a case into our caseload, so prospective clients can look for counsel with more availability. In the alternative, I have instructed the legal assistants to let clients know if additional information is needed to consider accepting a case. All our attorneys have a full caseload, so we can only accept new cases as we settle cases. Since we have more demand for our services than availability, our attorneys prioritize accepting meritorious catastrophic injury and serious property damage cases and we have indicated our limitation in case acceptance in our phone tree. Occasionally, we consider less serious cases, depending on our availability and any pending deadlines. After reviewing your intake, I noticed that you did not provide a date of loss to our legal assistant, which is very important as we cannot accept responsibility for case deadlines if we cannot calculate the deadlines.I appreciate the difficulty of trying to book with a professional when there is a high demand for professional services. So, this gives me the opportunity to make suggestions to prospective clients seeking counsel:Gather basic case information and corroborating evidence prior to calling a law firm and be polite to the legal assistant answering the phone.
