The university of penn bookstore is right next door. They area is clean. Would definitely recommend.
Nearby activities: There is a movie theater in walking distance
Safety: Everyone was friendly. The staff made us feel comfortable.

Amazing hotel, right smack dab in University city.
Pros:
1. Location, location, location especially if you are visiting the University (5-10 mins walk to the UPenn campus buildings).
2. Excellent tasting Italian restaurant Louie Louie with convenient pick up
3. Entrance on two major streets making it convenient for walking
4. Good lobby work areas; there is also buffet breakfast that I couldn't get to.
5. Excellent front desk and customer service - they can read your mind! I wanted to change my room and they accommodated (perhaps low vol. season).
6. Decent gym.
Cons
1. Bathrooms could be cleaner (I am a bit finicky about finding dark particulate on the bathroom shower floors or bathrooms in general). Toothpaste from brushing stains on the wall next to sink from prior remnants.
2. View not so great from rooms though most of the UC hotels don't offer great views.
3. Limited in room dining options that close by 10 pm or 11 pm
4. The sitting area/library was not dust free and so better job could be done there - but that's me nit-picking. Most folks won't even notice something like that.

Ive watched them and over heard them being rude to a few of their new employees in training and also noticed favoritism mangers as well this very disturbing they are very sneaky and not professional

We came here just for one night to see U Penn. Room was fine. Staff is not very welcoming and did not give any information about dining, wi fi until I asked. I can deal with those types of lack of services. There were also not enough towels for a double bed room. My main problem is that the shower was not working. On any temperature setting, there were unexpected intermittent episodes of scalding hot water coming from the shower. My 10 year old got burned on his foot. I called the front desk for engineering to come and fix it. They never came at all, so we did not use the shower. I came down to express my concerns to the employee at the front desk. He didnt seem to care at all and when we tried to tell him that this is a relative urgency, he basically gave us a very sarcastic look and said Have a nice day. I will report it. No sense of urgency or concern about my child either. Wowridiculous. I hope no one gets that room anytime soon until they fix it. Another person may get burned just like my child. Employees just see it as a job and not really with any pride. I would definitely not stay here again.
